This wasn't the way things were supposed to happen, but something has been freed by the destruction of the strings, something dark and malevolent that wants the universe to burn.
Only four special trolls know the truth, seen through flashbacks and dreams, that the world they live in is horribly wrong. They must learn how to work together or the nightmare they struggle to survive in will become their grave.
