My mother warned me to stay away from men like you. She wasn’t speaking of my lovers at that point mind you, as it would be many years until I told her of my predilections. What she meant was stay away from people—men—like my father. Cool, calculating intelligence, shut off from other people, wrapped up in perfectly pressed suits. Men who have the ability to remove themselves from the emotional “situations” of others. That’s what my father called it when my mother called him out on his affairs, or I got into a fight at school.
“Is there a situation I have to deal with?” he would ask. That question usually resulted in me getting the strap.
I was doing just fine in following my mother’s advice before you showed up.

Summary
This series will consists of 30 different fics. Each one has a different pairing and is inspired by a different song.
I got the idea for this “challenge” from one of my friends. She suggested I should try writing ficlets based on songs (like many fanfiction-writers have before me). Later I asked her to list me 30 ships I could write from (because for some reason I always forget all the ships I’ve ever shipped in moments like these).
Each day, during September, I pick one ship from the list, put one of my Spotify-playlists on shuffle (it has over 50 songs) and I simply write a fic. I’m aiming to keep the word count in between 100 and 500, but we’ll see how that goes...
Some times the ficlets are probably inspired by the whole song and it’s meaning, sometimes just by a specific set (or only one line) of lyrics. The songs will be pretty random and many are probably not very well known/popular, because of my strange-ish taste in music. So I'll make sure knowing the song/lyrics won’t be necessary to understand the fic.
