"Stow it, Joker," Shepard shot back, coming back through the Normandy's airlock from shore leave on the Citadel. "I'll have you know I can damn well dance, it's just not exactly easy with this shit on." She gestured at her armor, scoffing when her pilot rolled his eyes.
"Yeah sure, I'll believe that when I see it," he snipped, fiddling with the controls in front of him.
"You know what? Fine. I'll prove to all of you idiots that your commander can dance. We still have a couple hours before we need to be under way, tell everyone to assemble in the cargo bay in fifteen." With that, she turned and headed for the stairs, paying no mind to a very nonplussed Joker staring at her back.

Summary
And So It Goes covers what happened to Shepard and Kaidan after the Reapers were destroyed in the Destruction ending. I recently replayed the Mass Effect series and—even with all of the glorious cut scenes—I had so many questions about what happened next. Because of this, I decided to write about two of my favorite characters in the game, and posit what exactly happened to Commander Shepard, Kaidan, and the Normandy.
Beta'd by the lovely forgotmyline, who somehow knows what to do with all of my misplaced commas.

Summary
Discharged after the Siege of Torfan, Cassidy Shepard heads to Omega Station, where she begins working with Aria T'Loak.
Garrus Vakarian is sick of bureaucracy, of the red tape that comes with being a C-Sec officer. And after a case goes wrong, he's had enough of C-Sec and even the Citadel. So he leaves for Omega, where he can make a real difference. When he meets Shepard, a merc working for Aria, they form a partnership that will change the universe.
Together, they form an unstoppable team, bringing justice to the galaxy on their own terms — until they're caught.
Brought in by Nihlus Kryik, a Council Spectre, Shepard and Vakarian are to be taken to the Citadel. But their journey is sidetracked by a call for aid from Eden Prime — a human colony, under attack by the Geth.
