Lance returns to Keith’s bag, sets himself slowly to his knees as he opens the main compartment. He starts talking about something, laughing, but Keith doesn’t register what he says as his sleeve slips slightly over the smooth arc of his shoulder. Keith can’t help the groan that escapes him.
“Lance,” he says, pleads, and Lance stops his cheery little story. In the silence, Keith takes in how ruffled and open Lance has become, no doubt due to the alcohol. He’s a little breathless, cheeks and shoulders flushed a deep pink, and Keith lets out a long, drawn out sigh. “You’re killing me.”
Lance stiffens slightly. He looks up, meets Keith’s gaze. He’s wearing the same expression he always does when he’s confused—the pinched brows, the small jut of his lower lip as he pouts. Lance doesn’t even know he does it, and to Keith, that makes it all the more endearing.
“What do you mean?” he asks quietly.
“Killing me,” Keith whispers, rests his head in his hands.

“I…don’t really get what you’re talking about, dude.” Lance admitted sheepishly. “Since when do you care if I hook up with a bunch of people?”
Keith groaned loudly, as if Lance just said the stupidest thing in the world. “Since…like…forever?” He stumbled into the table and startled slightly, as if he had no clue it was there before. “Sorry.” He told the table.
“Hey, hey, hey, forget the table, man. This is kind of important.” Lance told him impatiently, walking over to him and grabbing his arm to get his attention. Keith still wasn’t really looking at him though, more just in a daze. “Do you like me? Since when!? Does Pidge know!? Does SHIRO know!?”
Keith finally looked at him, all but pouting, his bottom lip stuck out almost obnoxiously as he stared Lance in the eyes. “’s not fair.” He grumbled.
OR: Lance and Keith are both dorks and in love, it just takes some alcohol to actually get there.

Summary
Three years have passed since peace was restored in the universe. Earth is developing under the guidance of the Holt family, Hunk opened his own business, and Shiro finally settled down and started a family. Only Lance and Keith still haven't found their place in a world where war isn't raging. god i ADORE how their little fight scene was handled. i really needed them to scream at eachother and address every single thing that bothered them. can we get a hurray for their considerable display of emotional maturity?😝
i also immensely fw the juniberries symmetry at the start and end of the fic🥹 it shows how both of them got over their setbacks (allura’s presence looming over them even though she would’ve wanted nothing less than the two of them being happy…… guys get yo shit together!) in the end very nicely

although i do wish hunk would've gotten updated about the situation as well and a taddd bit more screentime, he’s lance’s best friend and just as much a part of the team as anyone else after all💔

He shut his eyes trying to sleep when he heard his phone go off. “Ugh, what now?”, He groaned rolling over and looking at the caller ID. He squinted at the sudden bright light against the darkness of the rest of the bedroom. His eyes widened as a picture of Lance was plastered on his screen. He immediately answered, “Hello?”, he asked curious as to why Lance was calling him so late.
“Oh thank god Keith, l’m so sorry to bother you, but I didn’t know who else to call, I tried calling Hunk, and Pidge, and Allura, and even Shiro-”
“Lance.”, Keith cut off his rambling, “What’s wrong?”
“Keith…”, Lance sounded like he was crying, “I- I really need your help.”

Summary
Keith had tried not to care about Lance at all, to ignore him, but Lance was just. So much. Everything about the way Lance acted seemed to scream notice me at Keith and, now that he started, he just couldn't stop. Lance was so colourful and loud, full of challenges. Lance's challenges were often very stupid, sure, but they were always fun. And what made it more fun was knowing that he somehow could get under Lance's skin just as much as Lance got under his. It gets less fun when Lance starts singing cheesy Disney songs at the top of his lungs because the asshole knows the walls between their apartments are thin and he does it on purpose so Keith will get the goddamn song stuck on his head for the rest of the week, and god, Keith hates him so much. He can't stop complaining about Lance's face, his voice, his hands, his hair, and his voice again because Lance chooses that exact moment to blast the soundtrack from Moana from his room, half singing, half shouting the lyrics.

This was the night Lance would fully move on from Keith. Their little on and off flirting game had been going on too long, and if Keith hadn’t actually made a move yet, Lance wasn’t sure he ever would. He just needed to find someone new to flirt with, and fully let go for the night.
