Niki knew she didn't trust the fae but still was debating going through with it. Maybe the fae would go through it all just for his brother. "Would you still do it?"

Phil entered the garden in silence, breathing for the first time that day. His sons were still free to enter, as they were anywhere in the palace, but rarely did they come here of their own free will. It was… a painful memory to them, he could understand why they’d want to forget.
The king could never forget his wife however, how she used to work in the same room as him, be the first person he could turn to for help. If she were still here, he’d be able to leave and know that the castle was in good hands.
If she were still here, he’d have someone to turn to. Someone to share his worries and joys with.
Phil coughed at her grave, the rattling returning with a vengeance. What was once a gentle wisp in his throat, became a knife digging around inside. Phil’s head fell forwards, his sight becoming cloudy as he couldn’t breathe for seconds on end.
He fell to his knees in front of his wife’s grave.

Summary
Tommy knew the rules of the Fae. Even without anyone to teach him, those lessons trickled down to the muddy streets he called his home.
He’d lived in this village for as long as he could remember, sleeping under porches and stealing to survive. His whole life he’d been running, from shopkeepers and soldiers and everyone else who saw a twelve year old boy and thought first of a target.
“Hey!”
Tommy bolted. A rotting apple was clutched close to his chest as he ran, legs pumping as he fled to the only place he knew he wouldn’t be followed.
The forest had a reputation for housing Fair Folk and other such beasts. Parents warned their children against entering the forest, but Tommy had none to do so. He wasn’t stupid— he knew the risks he faced in the forest— but he’d rather brave the potential threats there than the very real danger at his heels.

Summary
There is a cabin on a jetty at the edge of the ocean, and Tommy has never left its walls.
The sand will not harm him, and neither will the depths, water trickling across floorboards, sea spray salty on his tongue. He presses a hand to the window, and it comes back cold, something dripping down his spine.
In the darkness, with a candle sputtering frantically as the rain pours down around, it feels like fear.
Waves rush against the jetty, barnacles weeping as the water recedes only to thrash against the concrete with a vengeance. Tommy looks up, all the way past the skylight to the clouds that hang low, and he pulls his hands back towards his chest.
Fingers press together, nails scraping, palms touching, and Tommy bows his head as he prays.
To whom, he does not know.

He told himself he wasn’t going to make any friends this time, not wanting to subject himself or his friends to the pain he’d never managed to get used to, even after all these years. He reminded himself of this as he family’s steeds trotted into a new city, Apis. Known for its honey exports and being the home of the royal fae family, the town was huge, air warm with sweet scents and Tommy swore he’d only spent five minutes here and he’d already seen 14 beehives.

Tommy began the process of packing up camp and getting ready to move to a different part in the forest, somewhere he would feel safe. He shouldn't've been that close the village anyways, dumb move. He hit his arm on a tree trunk as he was packing up, and bit back a cry of pain. He gets it, the villagers don’t appreciate the fae in their midst, but he wishes they could’ve been a little more civil in his exile.
Tommy is exiled from his village once they find out he's fae, and falls into SBI's hands

The almost two years that he could remember since he had wandered into town had been full of ups and downs but now he had an older sister figure in his life and was living in her home. Since he moved in with Niki his life had fallen into a peaceful routine but he still longed for the forest and took time to go out and spend time in the woods whenever he could. Would his pull to the woods be the thing that ruins the peace that he had built?

Phil paused at the question, he’d never really thought about how the little songbird stayed around for so many years before. “I’m not really certain, besides we aren’t married.” He found his cheeks flushing a bit at the idea of marrying and falling in love, after all it had never been an option for him before.
Wil had perked up at the mention of his mother, “Well you could marry her, Mum is a lovely bird you know. You should take your relationship more seriously, like me and Sally, we’re in love and I’m going to marry her someday.”
Wil did not in fact marry Sally, they set her free once Fall came about and she swam upstream never to return. The seventeen year old had cried for hours on end before promptly declaring he was going to return to the river to be with her eternally.
