There was hot water burning at her cheeks, aching legs and breath that hitched at her movement. Empty words rang in her ears, eyes stung with tears as she brushed past people's shoulders, pushing them away.
Niki had heard the news mere moments ago. A monstrous child was to be sacrificed.
She screamed, words unheard even to her as she pushed to the front, finally. Her heart raced in her chest, adrenaline fueling her decisions. She could barely breathe, breath held by a thread as restless tears streamed down her face.
Niki had heard the news moments ago. A freak was to be sacrificed.
Her hands were held, separating her from her brother. He screamed back, he screamed for her- Niki could hear that much.
Niki had heard the news moments ago. Her brother was to be executed.
Niki loses all the people she loves and gradually loses all humanity + with a side of chaotic faes.

We all know what the Jubilee line is famous for. That dirty London Underground were more people enter than they leave. There were rumors about why they never left. Some say it's because of the old fae ring that the station was built on, others say it's because the line brings out the worst thoughts. No matter what was true the line was the only safe place the blonde boy could go. Unwanted by everyone else, maybe the line would take pity on him and let him live.
It would.
He just couldn't live there.
No there was some where else he was meant to be.
It just took 22 houses for him to get there.
Or: Adoption Au, except there's a twist. Everyone is a mythical creature or hybrid of some kind. Loosely based off of the song Jubilee Line.

Summary
Wilbur Soot was a faerie, and a good one at that. He took pride in the fact that he had tricked thousands of souls into slavery and debt, the fact that he had mastered words. It was a fae's greatest accomplishment, and he took honor in the fact he was known as a ruthless trickster even if his father didn't agree with the notion.
When he was alerted to someone stepping into his faerie ring late into the night, he got up with a groan. He really wasn't in the mood to deal with a greedy soul trying to make a deal, but whatever, he supposed.
He stepped into the human world, grimacing at how bland it was. How magic didn't float through the air with every breath, how dry the air was.
He frowned further when there was a blond/e human at his feet, picking from his berry bush. Nevertheless, he plastered a charming smile on his face and drew attention to himself. "Excuse me, you're intruding in my ring."
When Wilbur, a cruel faerie meets a bright young soul under poor circumstances, can he really bring himself to trick him? With open arms, he welcomes the kid in for a hug - but is it an honest hug or truly just manipulation?

The boy has bright blue eyes, but they shift and sparkle in a way no human's ever could. The fluffy blond hair on top of his head is too perfect, not even shifting with the breeze. There's almost an aura of danger around him, not visible to the human eye, but clearly labeling him as a predator. And as if those aren't dead giveaways, the boy (he's probably thousands of years old, not actually a boy, Wilbur reminds himself) has obviously pointed ears poking out of his hair.
"Hey, big man, what's up?"

“Oh, but I wasn’t asking you.” Wilbur made eye contact with the man. He recoiled in shock as Wilbur’s eyes lit up a soft purple and the man stumbled backwards. “Who are you?” Wilbur turned to the child, and the boy looked up.
Wonder filled his eyes as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. His check was a bright red, and Wilbur forced himself to calm down as the boy met eyes with him.

Wilbur knows that the Antarctic Empire is bad news. Humans don't make it out of there, ever. They're discovered years later in pieces, scattered across the valley, if they're ever found at all.
Still, Tommy isn't safe anymore and the Empire is well known to assimilate younger fae into the ranks without issue. Fae look after each other, no matter where they are.
So, Wilbur probably won't make it out of this alive or intact, but at least his baby brother will be safe.

King William, or rather Wilbur (he hates his regnal name) knows that his efforts aren’t enough for L’Manberg to rise back to its former glory."So, Tommy. How can we proceed with the deal?" Wilbur asks, waiting for the deafening silence to end.
Tommy sighs, "I'm not gonna repeat the fucking question and better listen carefully since you're so fucking smart—" Wilbur grins as Tommy rolls his vibrant eyes. "—you should be able to answer this easily after I count to five."
Wilbur nods in agreement....
"TIME'S UP, BITCH!" Tommy grins ear to ear as he announces, aqua eyes seeming to glow crimson under the shade of the clouds hovering over them as the wind blows harder.
"N- Wh- Wh—Why?!" Wilbur sputters before he exclaims. "I should still have a few seconds left to answer—"
"Did I ever say during the deal about giving you five seconds?”He never had a chance to win to begin with.

“Hello there,” a melodic voice rang from behind him.
Phil whipped around, coming face to face with an angelic being, too perfect to be human. The first sign of a fae was the pointed ears. The second was a beauty that couldn’t be compared to humans. The man in front of him fit that description with pointed ears peeking out from his brown hair. His cheekbones and jawline were at the perfect angle and his complexion immaculate. He had honey-brown eyes to match his hair, his bangs fell over an eye as the fae cocked his head. He watched Phil like a predator would watch prey.
“What’s an old man like you doing here?” the fae asked, voice thicker than the honey hidden in his eyes.
Phil didn’t let the fear grip his heart, “Funny that you of all people would call me old.”
A smile spread over the fae’s face, “Touché.” The brunet took a gentle step to the side, continuing to do so as if he was circling Phil like a vulture. Finally he made his way to the fae rings, sitting down on the soft moss of one.
“What brings you here, human?” he said, crossing his legs and placing his chin in his hands.
