Getting out had been such a blur. Desperation, panic, running. Desperately running, through the abandoned mall, out into the empty parking lot, and into the desolate street of abandoned buildings.
Then, finally, they’d seen it. The train station.
There was a train there. And based on the whistle, it was going to depart very soon. If they could get on in time… that would be it. Showfall couldn’t possibly outrun a train. They’d be free.-----------
Waking up on an island in the middle of the ocean, far from the grasp of Showfall, should have been the biggest relief. But all Ranboo could feel was nervous. Why?
Because Charlie didn't recognise him - and was incredibly insistent he'd been living on the island for months. -

The person turned on the heel of their worn Converse, running down the hall away from Ranboo without another word.
“What the fuck?” Ranboo whispered to themselves, as they contemplated running after the person. They then decided against it, since that light come off as a tad creepy.
But before Ranboo met up with their friends, they had no chance to distract themselves from what their mind whispered to them.
When he got home, he promised himself that they would look into the symbol drawn on the person’s nails.
They were sure it would just be a common, inconspicuous logo for something they had seen before.
It was easier to believe that and ignore the fact the back of their mind told them, maybe it was more than that.

Ever since Ranboo vanished over one of their brief breaks, there had been a system set up with the Brighton content creators- Everyone would take turns to head on over to Ranboo's house every few days.
1) to make sure nothing was stolen and to keep things clean
and
2) They all had the hope that maybe, just maybe, Ranboo would reappear back at his house.
It's not like Phil was expecting to ACTUALLY find Ranboo when it was his turn to check on their house, let alone a heavily injured and delirious Ranboo.

Summary
It's been a year since the moral dilemma of Showfall. Weeks and months of court cases, interviews, trying to avoid the media, going through the trauma of needing an entire new identity. Now 20, Ranboo finds their life uprooted and burned down in the year they were supposed to be getting used to this whole "adult" thing.
He thinks he's starting to get the hang of it, up until new evidence blows the Showfall case wide open. The police are banging down their door again, detectives are trying to get under their skin, news medias are trying to get their story. It seems no matter where they go, Showfall Media will be on his tail for the rest of his life.
