The four disciples quickly snapped out of their stupor, horror filing their veins at the sight of wei wuxian lying on the floor, uncounscious, his black robes fanning around him and his long hair covering part of his face, made it difficult to see if he had any injuries.
    Furthermore, the black smoke had receded but the barrier was still there, all the students could do was stand there and wait ...

    "What is this!?" Despite running being forbidden in cloud recess, lan qiren was doing just that, he had been waiting on his class to file in, but when the students never entered he decided to go look for them. He found them all sitting around in a circle on the training field, over 80students... Were just .. lazing?
    Upon closer looks his face paled, recognizing the features of a boy...no, man. he had not seen in over 17 years...
    The fact that lqr did no go into qi deviation was a miracle... The fact that he joined upon seeing what was happening was sign that hell had frozen over.

    Wei Wuxian stares at him, the proximity forcing him to look down ever so slightly to meet Jiang Cheng's eyes. His eyes seem to gleam like rubies, and Jiang Cheng watches as clarity - impure, scheming clarity - dawns on his face.

    "S-say something!" Jiang Cheng says, releasing him roughly and pushing him against the wall, skin prickling under Wei Wuxian's gaze.

    Wei Wuxian steps closer, perfectly still. Jiang Cheng clenches his fists by his side, shaking.

    "You asked me what I want," Wei Wuxian starts, voice soft and steady. It scares the shit out of Jiang Cheng. "In exchange for my core… there is something you can give me."
