Okay so: The beginning was INCERDIBLY sad and heartbreaking bc IMAGINE that the boy you've had a crush on has a boyfriend probably it's their first love and it's NOT you, you have to watch and see how the LOVE OF YOUR LIFE is laughing with some dumb boy who's also pretty and you're pretty too but in a different way. That must have been so heartbreaking for Lance like REALLY think about it. I think I will never get over this fic... I mean it's just a simple one shot but still. I am no going to show it to my friends probably cuz they wouldn't understand this fic on a deeper level if you know what I mean. It's heartbreaking if you get into character of Lance something like this would be heartbreaking for anyone and then we don't even get a happy ending cuz Lance can't really know if Keith like him or if he is just a rebound like the "ex" said. Also Keith will probably have MAJOR trust issues and one last thing: imagine you REALLY like sameone for a long time, you're friends with them and everything and then suddenly this person is dating somebody else even though you liked them FRIST AHHH THIS IS SO UNFAIR!!!!

Unexpectedly, James placed a hand on Lance’s shoulder, lightly pushing the paladin aside, and Lance had to try very hard to not stop the man from walking past him and towards Keith.
Keith, who was wiping away sweat on his face with his shirt, focused and was in his own world the way he always did whenever he was training.
(The sight was not rare for Lance. It was a sight the red paladin had gotten to see almost frequently, especially ever since he became the black paladin’s right-hand man.
Lance would rather have that sight all to himself - and reserved to only a select few people that Lance deemed safe.)
