Jinx isn’t very familiar with babies, but when she turns toward the alley and listens, she can just feel in her bones that this isn’t a normal “I’m hungry!!” or “I’m gassy!!” or “I’m tired but too dumb to go to sleep!!” cry.
So, she cautiously creeps her way over to the alley, making sure to stay alert of her surroundings. It’d be really embarrassing if this was a trap and this is how she ended up getting arrested, so she has to make sure she can get away easily if she needs to.
She peeks her head around the wall, and freezes.
She isn’t sure what exactly she was expecting, but a very, very dead body wasn’t it.
or, post ep9: Jinx is in hiding from the Enforcers, only leaving her hideaway to gather necessary supplies, until she stumbles upon a dead body on one of her days out, to make matters worse; the dead person left behind a very much alive baby.

As soon as the band started, it was silenced, replaced by a quiet buzz. The world ebbed and flowed around me, a current of panicked bodies surging downstream. The sensation was dull. It was like an echo—certain, but far away.

Weeks after the world fell apart, Vander found Violet and Powder scavenging in the ruins of Zaun, worn down and barely surviving. Violet, fiercely protective of her younger sister, initially distrusted Vander, keeping him at a distance and challenging his offers of help. Powder, frightened but hopeful, clung to Violet, unsure whether to believe the burly stranger. Vander, recognizing their desperation and seeing echoes of his own past in them, patiently earned their trust by offering food, safety, and a place in his shelter. Slowly, Violet relented, realizing she couldn’t protect Powder alone. Over time, Vander became a steady presence in their lives, providing them with a sense of security they thought they’d never feel again.
