Seven years ago creatures from another world almost ended up destroying Tokyo, before being sent back to their home. Ever since life in the human world has gone on like before.High School student Denrei does not remember the events that have transpired seven years ago. He struggles both with schools, and with his controlling father. When a stranger challenges him to a card game, he finds himself confronted with the truth that things he had considered fiction till now are in fact part of his reality. Soon enough he finds out about the other Digimon Tamers, the Digimon and a strange girl, who seems to be able to summon the creatures from another world at will.
Denrei has always dreamed of having a Digimon partner, has dreamed of an adventure of his own. But he soon has to find out, that adventures in the real world are far more deadly, than he has imagined them to be.

Despite missing them, time continued at it's usual pace and them resumed normal lives. Hypnos was rebuilt, now monitoring typical cyber activity and with it rebuilt, digital disturbances once again began to get picked up. Something is happening in the digital world, and it's trying to reach out to the real world. The D-Reaper, in its wanton destruction, has caused another evil to be set free.
