It used to be that spotting a crisp navy suit and a stony face in the crowd meant Aerith’s heart would leap into her throat. Sometimes, it still did. She lived with constant vigilance. Wherever she went, Shinra’s stalking and scheming loomed over her like dark Midgar smog. As with Midgar, Aerith was used to the unpleasantness. The main difference between the city and the Turks was that in her heart of hearts, she was actually rather fond of Midgar.
And anyway, Aerith could scheme, too.
