Hi people, it's been a pretty weird year since the last chapter was posted here. But I've not been sitting idle.
I started this story with a rough sketch in my mind and it sort of rolled on from there. The more I wrote, the less pleased I became with the stuff I'd written earlier. So, bit by bit, I've been editing the chapters, scrapping words, lines, paragraphs, adding new ones, moving things around, making things flow better. I've done this with the first four chapters, but I haven't put the revised versions up here yet. I still want to re-read them for any last few finishing touches. (Or maybe I'm subconsciously daunted by having to reformat them all into good, correctly spaced HTML again.) Anyway, there's a good chance I'll get it done in the next few days. Some parts of this old version are giving me cringe, which is always a good motivator. Thank you for reading and continuing to drop those kudos!
