Now that the planet has been able to rebuild and get back to a comfortable life, The Fairy Queen has decided to throw an extravagant ball to celebrate both the anniversary of the defeat of Zero and boost morale. Of course, the heroes who saved Ripple Star are invited. However, a certain king doesn’t want to go alone since the two young heroes, Bandana Dee and Kirby, will have each other. Who better to make his plus one than his own very loyal knight? One problem though, that said knight is terrible at socializing and has been keeping a big secret from his king. Will this dance be the cause of that secret getting out or will the knight continue to bury his feelings?

Summary
Kirby was sad that Susie left Planet Popstar immediately after Star Dream was destroyed. He wanted to thank her again for providing him help to take down Star Dream, and wanted to express his sympathies to her because of President Haltmann's death. Unfortunately, though, he hasn't gotten the chance to see her for quite some time.
But one day... Kirby just so happens to encounter Susie again at a time he didn't expect it. He finally gets his chance to express the emotions he's been wanting to express to her, but then he also learns much more about the former secretary than he anticipated...
UPDATE: While this fic will remain available to read, I now consider it outdated. They still become friends in my headcanons, but I now have it play out differently from how it is in this fic.
