Willow had damn near fainted at the sight of him. For Harry, it started with a single thought: to escape.
To not feel anything after Sirius’s death. To be anything but himself and to be anywhere but here, in the Dursleys' cramped second bedroom, thick with the sweat and dampness of summer. He was losing his mind with all the pent-up rage and unrepentant grief.
He chose to spend his whole summer wandering the streets, the dirtier the better. Piles of garbage and dustbins of leftovers from two-star restaurants. The alleys and under the bridges were occupied with moans and reeks of piss and semen.
Yet nothing in this world could hold him back. No one could say no to him since his existence didn’t matter. For a thousand miles, far away from Hogwarts and his friends, his actions bore no consequences and hurt no one. The end of the world could be right here at this moment, but that wouldn’t bring Sirius back. Voldemort could destroy the world for all he cared.
The thought carried him through the gate of a whole new world.

Harry Potter is a troubled teen, and that is not a great mystery to those who meet him. But he's the Golden Boy, the Saviour, so it would seem that such a person cannot reach a breaking point, right? Harry can always deal with difficult situations, isn't that true? Of course, Albus Dumbledore is not happy about Harry's recent behaviour, but he's not overly concerned. He believes that a little scolding (preferably coming from someone other than Albus) will do everything that's to be done. And if Harry is not happy with Albus at the moment, it's surely a matter of proper conversation. Isn't it?
What Albus doesn't know is that only one thing of the above is true in the case of Harry: he can always deal with difficult situations. So when Harry quietly breaks and falls into pieces, his downfall starts unnoticed, and the problems go wild, Harry finds a way to deal with the problem.
Just completely different than Albus would imagine.
Harry finds refuge in the care of the ancient vampire, under the wings of Immortals, and gets himself into more trouble, even though he thinks Harry Potter's problems are a thing of the past.

Every time Remus slinked into the dark hallways of the Shrieking Shack, it felt like a funeral march. Each time felt like his last. In the morning, as he lay on the dirty mattress with blood matted in his hair, Remus joked to no one in particular, “When this finally takes me out, I’d like lilies on my casket.”
His wry smile was the only one in the room. Peter averted his eyes, looking at the gnarled floorboard and gnawing on his frowning bottom lip, while Sirius stared at him with red-lined eyes and pursed lips. James just furrowed his eyebrows, tapping his wand to Remus’ ribs and admonishingly muttering, “That’s enough of that talk, thanks very much.”
Now, at sixteen, Remus supposes that jokes aren’t as funny when they’re too close to the truth.

He doesn't know how a love potion could possibly have reached him, but he can imagine why it was slipped in, because he can't resist the temptation to seek out the man that has wanted him dead since birth.
Voldemort, meanwhile, is disturbed to see his nemesis in such a state. He doesn't know who effectively delivered him The Boy Who Lived, but they will be dying for the insult before the boy does. He may as well keep his little enemy close while he picks at the strange enchantments on Potter's mind.
