Summary
It was a Monday on May 9th that Hank had received his one-month sobriety coin. It’s the morning after, while seated in the Oldsmobile with him, that Connor teaches him how to do coin tricks with it.
Still working as partners at the DPD, Hank and Connor investigate the murder of Professor Eighty-nine, an android professor teaching at Detroit University.
This is a sequel to Digital Symphony, however, this fic can be read as a standalone.

He opens the file RK900 sent him through the mind link. It’s a short ocular recording of his aquarium with his fish swimming around, eating the fish food that falls down into the water.
>My fish look happy.
>I am not sure they are capable of feeling emotions, RK800.
>Maybe in their own way.
It’s silent for a moment, but the presence in his mind palace feels thoughtful. Perhaps reflecting on how humans thought androids were incapable of feeling emotions as well, and some still do.
>Maybe. I’ve increased their feeding schedule to 0.95 grams of fish food per session.
>That sounds like a reasonable increase.
>You told me I could share pictures of animals I liked to people I am familiar with.
>I did.
>Did I do it right?
Connor looks at the short recording of his fish eating the flakes of fish food. Swimming around in a hurry to get the biggest pieces. He can see the reflection of RK900’s LED in the glass.

Markus was stunned, never having heard Simon talk like this, not towards him, anyway. It made something hot twist in his chest.

Summary
Post Android Revolution, Detroit, a city of progress and change, is the home of co-existing humans and androids. However, it appears there's a darker truth being harboured by the city's own governance, in ties with multiple organisations; all unknown.
Gavin still has an aggressive, abrasive manner yet sharp instincts; he often alienates his colleagues with his harsh words, but he gets results.
Alongside him is Connor, the first deviant android detective. Previously designed to assist in investigations of his own species, Connor has a calm demeanour and an analytical mind. Yet, this doesn't make up for the journey of being deviant; his lack of emotional understanding often puts him at odds with Gavin.
The two, paired together to investigate the case, must find the ability to work together.
