It was a bad idea. It really was. But Buck was exhausted and Maddie was insistent. The rest of the party was all pretty well buzzed, and doing their best to give Eddie a decent going away since he’d gotten a house in El Paso and worked out a few things with Christopher so he was going to go between Eddie’s place and his grandparents place so they could try to work through everything. So. Chris ran off to Texas for nearly six months, Tommy dumped him, and Eddie was leaving.
Sue him. Buck was allowed to feel miserable.

“Why? Can a guy get a beer alone?” He chuckles and takes a sip of his glass.
“I… yeah… but, you know, in here,” she gestured around them with both hands.
Now Tommy looks confused. He glances around and back at Hen. “What do you mean? It’s a bar. there’s beer, and I was in desperate need of a drink.”
And it was this moment Hen realized Tommy has no clue where exactly he is.
“Tommy, this is a queer bar.”
“A what?”
“A Gay Bar”
“Oh” Hen watches his face as reality sets in. Confusion turns into bewilderment, turns into…understanding?Or: Hen and Tommy are friends, and it all started back in 2010. Follow their friendship developing over the years. All while Tommy discovers a whole lot about himself.

“Are you in love with Eddie?” he blurted out, completely steamrolling over whatever else Tommy had been saying and stopping him dead in his tracks, making him almost choke on his stupidly fancy BLT.
Once Tommy had stopped coughing, his eyes still a little watery and his voice still a little raw, he croaked out, “Excuse me?”***
Tommy is Buck's boyfriend. Eddie is Buck's partner. It's really not that complicated.

“I love Maddie, and I really hope that she’s okay wherever she is, and that she’s getting the help she needs. But she’s the one that ran. She’s the one hiding information from you. Don’t you think you might be taking your anger out on the wrong Buckley?”
Chimney sighed again, and there was a rustle through the phone like he was running a hand down his face.
“Fine. You might have a point."

Apology fic where Chimney actually has to apologize for his actions! This takes place right after season 5 episode 5 when Buck tries to transfer firehouses. Chimney punched him before taking off, Maddie is gone, and things at the firehouse are weird. Of course Buck takes it personally and blames himself. Canonically, Chimney got away with apologizing offscreen. I think he deserves to be chewed out a bit. The first chapter is Hen reacting to Buck trying to transfer and calling Chimney. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to write other perspectives and slowly have the whole firefam call to yell at him - or just make chapter 2 be his actual apology to Buck. Buck deserves an apology and we deserve to hear it!
