Or in which when Miles Matheson was dying, Bass Monroe triggered the nanobots to open a portal into another universe – a parallel Earth where his dear friend could be healed. But in doing so, he became an offspring of Shub Niggurath, tasked to collect souls for his cosmic Mother to devour. Meanwhile, Miles was disintegrated and forced into an endless cycle of death and rebirth, only becoming accessible to Bass once he reached full maturity same as his original form. But the present incarnation was already falling apart, already broken down by so many heartaches. Bass must do everything in his power to alleviate the pain, or he’d have to wait another five hundred years.

This is a rewrite/CM2 version of my very first Charloe fic, Bassmas, which was originally written and posted in 2015. Loosely inspired by episode 2x15 (Dreamcatcher) but surrounded by the events of 2x06 (Dead Man Walking). This story could basically be a missing scene.

After that, whether she likes it or not, he's sticking around, and she ends up taking him home to Willoughby, where as they work together (alongside her family) to take down the Patriots, their feelings for each other change.
