      Oof. Rickard. If only you didn't...
      Poor traumatized Ned. I wouldn't forgive Rickard. But you're a young kid and you lost your only other parent. At least it's obvious he's thinking of Rickard differently, no longer as 'father'. - he forgave but also hasn't in a way. Their relationship is vastly different than what it would have been. He can no longer trust Rickard to protect him and his siblings

       

      Protect the pack

       

      Ngl I'm unfamiliar with Rodrik, so cool for me! It's not often I read about Lyarra being alive in fics, much less her own family. So it's neat as I don't know much about this character that can be explored wildly, although I checked and he is canon. I'm aware of Branda as she showed in a fic or two I've read, but never before Rodrik.

       

      Hmm. Ned killed his mom's murderer

       

      I like the acknowledgement that Ned very much as wolf blood, although he keeps it under tight control. I always enjoy it when fics make sure we don't forget that just because our Wolf is Quiet, it doesn't mean he isn't as wild or dangerous as the others. In fact, it often means the opposite.

       

      I appreciate that we shall have competent, intelligent and ruthless (to some degree) Ned. It's already shown before he even starts receiving his training from the Wandering Wolf

       

      I enjoy the exploration of the different family dynamics

       

      I like seeing everything Ned learns. I like that it's not focused purely on fighting.

       

      Sigh. Rickard. You idiot.
      Ned still held hope to maybe repairing the relationship slightly. But you've managed to push him further away. For good.

      “I only have your words for you, Stark words.
      ‘When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.’
      You have just condemned me to be the lone wolf; south of the Neck where Starks go to die.
      I will take my leave. Father.”

      And he did, leaving the solar without so much as a ‘by your leave’.
      To Rodrik the last word had such an edge of finality to it that he did not doubt that it was to be the last time that he heard his grandson call his good son father. Time would prove him right.

      Ty Rodrik for helping Rickard understand his.. well stupidity tbh.
      It won't undo the damage already done, but it will indeed be better for Ned than the Vale, no matter that Rickard and Ned will never be father and son again.

       

      The chapter from young Lya's pov was interesting. Unique. Emotional

       

      Aw. Snowdrift is the offspring of Ned's grandmother's horse

       

      Snickers. I like the impressions Ned gives people. Seeing how other Northernmen think of him from their pov is fun!

       

      Hehe. Ned's dormant potential to become a very powerful Warg ignited and he's now a Warg.

      Shame it's the last chapter and it's been nearly 6 years since. I enjoyed reading this fic!
