Summary
The night Sunday cried to him, expressing his conflicting desires and fears and how deeply it hurt to fight himself for autonomy over his own body, Welt informed him that it didn’t matter how long it took, or how nonsensical it might seem to outsiders. He was willing to work with him, be patient with him, and would not push him beyond his limits.
Sunday wept harder then, nearly hysterical. When he calmed down enough to speak, he admonished Welt for his ability to effortlessly reduce him to tears, and promised that one way or another, he would find a way to consummate their relationship.
Thus commenced Sunday’s dogged pursuit of sexual enlightenment.
Welt helps Sunday overcome some of his compulsions, and proves that his body is worth loving.

The clock beeped with hushed buzzing. "3:00 AM" It read on the clock beside Sunday's shaky fingertips, gripping the pen. The sound was a violation of the room's fragile silence, a tiny knife in corner of the desk discarded. He flinched, the movement sending a fresh tremor through the hand that had just finished its marring of the flesh.
He stared at the letter, not reading the words or rather, unable to comprehend the words. Hell, he doesn't even remember what he wrote.
Or. Sunday does not feel sane. I mean, did he ever? (Until Aventurine holds him.)

Shoes clacking against the floor match the soft beat of the piece. The fact he could easily walk to it was a sign it was in 2/2 time, if Aventurine was correctly remembering the music theory dumped on him by the same man he proceeds to sit next to on his beloved piano bench.
The piece reaches its finish on a…white key below the group of three black ones, up four semitones, then up three more… some kind of chord, the sound still faint in the air as Sunday turns to look Aventurine in the eye. The two wait for the chord to fully dissipate before Aventurine fills the newfound silence.
“Hey there, Feather-head. The inner child in you wanted to disobey Dad to make up for your lack of doing so as a youngling?” The mildly reprimanding remark is accompanied by an amused smile.
