Gwaine gave the two a knowing look, shifting away from Merlin slightly as if the servant suddenly wasn’t as available as he had been moments ago. It didn’t make sense to Arthur at the time, because he had never categorized Merlin as ‘available’ in his brain, seeing how Merlin had always belonged to Arthur.
He should’ve known.
OR
Merlin had always been Arthur's, but now he has to watch something bloom between his servant and Sir Lancelot.

How they ended up like this, no one knew, but none were all too miffed. Ambushes and kidnappings lost the element of surprise by the tenth time.
As usual Arthur, Merlin and the Knights were out on a patrol. This time however, they were joined by an adamant Morgana who refused to stay behind when she heard of the recent attacks in the Woods and a Guinevere who seemed just as determined to protect her friends in the lower towns.
And following the weekly routine, they were ambushed and kidnapped. Nothing new.
Except, oddly enough, it was not in search of the King of Camelot, nor was it an endeavour for ransom.
They were looking for someone else.
They were looking for Emrys.
