Gwen couldn’t remember the last time she was out of her apartment for something other than work. For the past couple of weeks, she’d followed her schedule even more strictly than usual: eat something quick at 8:30 PM, walk to work, do her job from 9:00 to 5:00, walk home, then catch a few hours of sleep. Or at least, she had tried to. As she shot awake in a cold sweat, no matter how many lights she had left on, Gwen couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being watched.

Summary
After Towerfall, Martin manages to get himself and Jon taken to a medical tent. Jon isn't doing well however and Martin isn't sure he'll make it through the night. When he wakes up alone he assumes Jon had passed... only to see him extracting a statement and leaving the statement giver dead.
It becomes clear that Towerfall shattered the different pieces of Jon and he is now basically Jekyll/Hyde with his human and archivist sides, with the archivist side being the Magnus Protocol canon-typical archivist. He can't control it and once he realizes what he's doing he hates himself deeply. Martin however won't let him end it (though he does try. Repeatedly) and works with him to try to re-combine the two sides so that he can control it.
