This takes place after Critical Film Studies because, basically, I can't get that scene of Jeff and Britta dancing together dressed as Pulp Fiction characters out of my head! It is a slight canon divergence in that Britta and Jeff have not slept together since the first paintball game the previous year, but (spoiler alert) they DO get together now...in his car!

She stares into his eyes with a look he can’t quite describe – and to say it’s rare for Jeff Winger to be at a loss for words would be an understatement. It’s as if his words have sparked something in her though, like she’s seeing something for the first time. He’s just not sure what that something is.
She rises off the counter and takes one step toward him. “Can we?” she asks, looking up at him through hooded eyes.
He instinctively rises, too, and takes one step closer to her, as if they’re the north and south poles of magnets, positive and negative charges, being pulled together by a force greater than themselves.

Standing up some hot chick because she wasn’t interested in your best friend didn’t seem typical. He couldn’t help but feel if any other guy was in the same situation they would be relieved.
But Troy was offended. How the hell could someone not want Abed? He was tall and attractive. He couldn’t wrap his head around the fact Mariah didn’t want Abed and instead found him weird. To him that was weird.

Troy doesn’t entirely know where it comes from at first but the more he looks at the suitcase the stronger the uncomfortable feeling in his stomach becomes. Abed is HIS best friend, not Jeff’s, all Jeff had to do was go get Abed for his surprise party and instead he’s spending time with him alone? It doesn’t sit right with Troy, not one bit. It only takes him like ten minutes to figure out he’s actually jealous of the former lawyer and not sick from the questionable sandwich he’d had this morning.
