“Cool, because I think Dr. Keene is a creepy son of a bitch and the only reason, I see him is because Dr. Phillips downstairs stopped letting me make appointments with her when I turned 21.”
Dr. Kaspbrak, at Richie’s confession, cracked a smile that was quickly smothered by a carefully contained expression. “Is that right?”

Summary
Good is relative. Eddie knows that. He had Derry and that fucking clown and Bowers, his cronies, and his knock-offs too, that came after. Eddie had Sonia, his mother and her suffocating love, desperate to keep him close, keep him small by every definition. And none of that was good, not by any stretch of the imagination. All of it left a mark, whether he could remember where the mark originated or not, it scuffed him and scraped and left scratches as permanent as the hematoma visible on x-rays of Eddie’s right arm, where the bone had been broken one summer and messily set though he could never clearly remember how.
But there’s more to it, Eddie knows as soon as he’s awake enough to hold on to what he remembers.

She didn’t know most of these people. It was ridiculous, it was her husbands funeral and she…she didn’t know most of these people. There they were though. A group of five people who appeared right before it had started and stood near the back, chatting quietly amongst themselves. They were only a little ways behind her, their speech quiet enough not to disturb most of the other people, but loud enough their words rang in her head. They spoke of it, of his childhood, a town of which Patty barley knew the name of much less it’s entire story.
What if Richie and Patty had become friends after everything and, through hardships and grief, managed to pick their lives back up as they went.

His feet are in the gutter and he kind of wishes he could melt into the sewer, fall apart in the gray water, maybe make his way back to Richie or Stan somehow.
Eddie makes it to California when Richie doesn't make it out of Derry.
