With Katniss and the rest of the 74th's tributes being born a year later and the 74th hunger games going off without a hitch the Capital makes a very risky gamble, if the Capital win then the districts will see a revolution as entirely impossible. If the districts win however, well I don't need to tell you what kind of message the districts coming together and beating the capital would send.

Summary
As a way to make the District's seem even more inhumane and seperate from the Capitol, the water supplies of Districts 1 through 13 were spiked with a radioactive substance developed in Capitol labs. If a person carrying a pregnancy was exposed to it, the fetus had a chance to be born with abilities beyond any normal child.
Every year, twelve boys and twelve girls with superhuman abilities are reaped to appear in an annual event called The Hunger Games. There is only one rule: kill, or be killed. When twelve year old Willow Atlas is reaped for the Hunger Games, she is expected to be picked off in the bloodbath, like a weed. They had no idea how poisonous a little weed could be.

Summary
Twenty years after the Third Quarter Quell, Katniss and Peeta explain the facts of life to their kids. These include:
1. Squid Game, where willing districts adults battled to pay off student loans, was completely different from the Hunger Games, a cross between a makeover show and a televised child massacre.
2. Peeta wasn’t a simp.
3. Gale wasn’t a general six weeks after basic training.
4. Prim was not a doctor, vet, pharmacist, farmer and artisanal cheese maker at age ten.
5. There’s a perfectly good explanation for President Snow being in their freezer since the Third Quarter Quell. Just give them a sec to think of it...Or, the engaged parent version of Hunger Games in which District 12 took full advantage of the being forgotten by the Capitol and questioned the real reason they lacked steady electricity.
