“Sing to me.” He breathed, his eyes never leaving her face. Her cheeks warmed and turned pink. She nodded and sang. Her voice covered him and he felt at peace, similar to when he would submerge himself underwater. He found that she was what came to mind when he needed to calm himself more and more nowadays.

Katniss unfortunately is and is married off to man from outside her district. Will she and Prim be able to survive?

Summary
In an Alternate Universe where Panem is hit by a version of the Spanish Flu, Gale and Katniss along what's left of their families decide to strike out into the wild, taking with them Peeta Mellark who happened to be in just the wrong place at just the wrong time.
This started out as an attempt to write a fic with an actual threesome while remaining in Panem. It's since developed a life of its own complete with a whole lot of world-building, randomization, and even several side stories.

As a way to make the District's seem even more inhumane and seperate from the Capitol, the water supplies of Districts 1 through 13 were spiked with a radioactive substance developed in Capitol labs. If a person carrying a pregnancy was exposed to it, the fetus had a chance to be born with abilities beyond any normal child.
Every year, twelve boys and twelve girls with superhuman abilities are reaped to appear in an annual event called The Hunger Games. There is only one rule: kill, or be killed. When twelve year old Willow Atlas is reaped for the Hunger Games, she is expected to be picked off in the bloodbath, like a weed. They had no idea how poisonous a little weed could be.
