Lucas looked down at his hands, the first two fingers of his right hand still captured under Jens’. He could see the soft smile Jens was sporting out of the corner of his eye, the upturned lips of his lover making his own closed-mouth smile - the one he didn’t realize he was wearing - grow.
He breathed in deep once more.
“I think I’m gay,” he breathed out, then paused. “Well- no. I am gay. I don’t think I’m gay, I am gay.” He looked at Jens, whose face could only be described as amused. “Definitely gay.”

Piano is his ticket out of that house, but once he's out, what's he going to do with it? Pursue college? Sign with a record label? Or maybe find a coffee shop looking for live music and meet a handsome, mysterious singer covered in scars?
This fic is inspired by the musical Next to Normal. Specifically, the song 'Everything Else'. All chapter names will be song titles and I highly encourage you to check the musical out. It's one of my favorites!
