Summary
Everything has changed so much and yet it somehow feels like nothing has changed at all, but only because everyone seems to have made a deal to collectively ignore the Games. It just feels like there’s a weight over everything and it’s slowly crushing him, cuz he knows they saw everything.
Some of the worst nightmares he’s had haven’t even been the ones where he’s woken up panicking. They’re the ones where he’s just watching.
He just stands behind Tommy and Ranboo, who act like he’s not even there, and he watches them as they watch him onscreen. He’s watched himself murder Topaz, stabbing her again and again in a brutal rage. He’s relived the whole final battle with Glint, then killing Oceanice and Aurum over their shoulders. And worst of all, he stands frozen as they see him onscreen, cradling Michael and saying ‘I forgive you’, then sitting against the rock holding the sprig of Michael’s heather, covered head to toe in blood.
And when he wakes up in a cold sweat, he just stares at them. Because he is a murderer now.

Sam squeezes his shoulder. “You ready?”
“As I’ll ever be,” Tubbo shoots back numbly, lifting his head out of Sam’s chest. He wishes he could stay in the dark. At least down here, he can’t feel the weight of the eyes on him. It’s almost like his cave. Darkness is safe. No people are safe.
“One more thing, Tubbo,” Sam says over the booming noise of the anthem of Panem, green eyes shining in the dark. “Remember that it’s over.”
The Games are over. His Games are over.
Or at least, he’s not in the arena anymore.
That’s the thought he tries to dwell on as the announcing starts. He stands on his pedestal, shaking, trying not to let it show.

Summary
He cracks his eyes open and wants to scream in pain, but then his head’s underwater.
He gasps awake and someone is there hushing him and pushing him back down before the water washes over his face again. Grey-green eyes and white-blond hair follow him down into the black.
He calls out for Tommy and Ranboo, but they never answer. He sobs, but they never comfort him.
Things are muddled and warped by the water, but he knows the hands on his head and lower abdomen are gentle. Gentle and small.
"Y-you gotta lay back down,” the boy whispers. “You can’t die.”

Summary
With that, she jumps off the rock and thrusts the spear at him, and Tubbo is shoved into his first real fight since the Games began.
He barely manages to dodge the spearhead before it clangs into the rocks, but then she comes at him with the small knife. He feels a splitting pain on his forehead, and suddenly half his vision is red.
He yells out in pain, resisting the urge to curl up in a ball. His left hand goes instinctively to cover the wound just above his left eye, and he looks up to find the spear coming at him again.
Knife.
He slashes upwards, deflecting the spearhead but not cutting the shaft because the whole thing is made of shiny silver Capital metal. The noise of metal scraping against metal rings across the clearing, screeching in his ears.
His heart is pounding in his throat and he can barely hear.

After twenty four years of Hunger Games, the districts have settled into a monotonous acceptance of their circumstances. Every year one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 will be reaped and sent into the arena. It is horrific, but it is at least known.
The announcement of the first Quarter Quell turns everything on its head.
Tethys Holloway lives alone by the coast of District 4. She's removed from her only living family as well as her District and she spends her days taking on odd jobs for the elderly and selling the fish she catches. By all accounts, she's never wronged another person. It starts getting hard to believe that when she is unceremoniously voted into the 25th Hunger Games. Betrayed by the only family she has left and set on a journey to the Capitol with the boy she never wanted to remember, Tethys finds it difficult enough to be confident in her survival.

Summary
The Covey had been scattered across Panem’s south. Most had been herded into District Twelve, stuck, but kept mostly together. Yet an unlucky few were packed into District Eight. One of the Districts that borders unfortunate Twelve and its coal mines.
Though ‘borders’ is an exaggeration, and all of the rounded-up Covey from Eight who tried to make it through the surrounding forests were hunted down quickly by Peacekeepers. If not shot down immediately, the escapees were forced to work in the most unsanitary and fatal textile mills.
By the time of the 35th Hunger Games, only two Covey still live in District Eight. Twin children. Their father killed by a Peacekeeper. While the children try to play their lutes and lyres as much as they can, music has been outlawed inside factories and in the square. Nowhere else much to go in District Eight.
Everything changes again when both Covey children are reaped in the 35th Hunger games—Ira Canary Baird and Wren Iris Baird. At age 16, they have to face each other, the Capitol, and almost certain death.
