opened the hatch underneath the sink, it smelled like dry soil. It was pretty unusal considering that july is one of the wettest months in northern panem. But the factories and industry up here has been blowing rain clouds out and making smog. My friend pines family rely on agriculture to sustain themselves (even though its illegal) but with the low rains their crops have been dying and pines older sister has been stealing from the mayor. I just hope she doesn't get into any trouble. Pines family, the Flores’s, are kinda like the opposite of my family. They used to be merchants but after their family was caught dealing with the black market they fell from grace.
Sage Koyukuk is a girl in northern district 7 who gets sterotyped as a witch. but when she goes into the games, it becomes her biggest advantage... -

Summary
Like many families in Panem, the Masons deal with the horrors of the Hunger Games by ignoring them as much as possible. The eldest child of the family, Johanna, knows she wouldn't stand a chance if her name was chosen at the reaping. She can't even handle a few school bullies, let alone 23 other tributes! However, when she befriends the new girl in town, Johanna starts to learn a few tricks for keeping herself safe. Maybe, with enough practice, she wouldn't be so hopeless after all.
A long backstory filled with family, friendship and love.
