He had even ordered a new ( and very expensive ) three-piece set of coat , waistcoat and breeches made of ( very expensive ) Italian wool just for this occassion . He was certain , vampire society would not soon forget about this event nor its hosts , the Wayne brothers .
Yes , Tim was willing to share the glory with his brothers eventhough he'd organised everything ( he and Alfred .)
So , imagine his surprise and disappointment when a certain werewolf in heat came barking on his door demanding love and affection . But , Tim was nothing if not capable , he could surely deal with this ... nuissance and return to his ball in time ? Yes ? YES , absolutely ( not ) .

And Tim did remember, though he had a lot of practice compartmentalizing. They had been in love, he quickly realized. Oh god. He buried his face in his hands. Vampires lacked the blood to blush, but he would've, if he could.

Everything had been going fairly well. Tim's arrangements for leaving Gotham permanently were underway and Conner was definitely on board with the idea. Kon knew Gotham wasn't good for Tim, not anymore so to have Tim suggest leaving was great. Plus, away from Gotham he wouldn't have to sneak so much since no Batman to glare at him for being in his city.
Conner had an off-world mission with Clark and Tim had a very complicated case to finish first though. Not that any of the family even thought there was a case, except Jason. He believed Tim since quite a few of the incidents had happened in Crime Alley and he wanted them stopped. So maybe Tim should have taken Jason with him when a familiar scene popped up somewhere more central. Going alone, was the last mistake he would ever make.
Timothy was her way to destroy the Bats and Birds of Gotham and she would enjoy turning him into a loyal Childe. He would be at her side for eternity and with his mind, there was no limit to the power she could gain.

The person snaps their jaw underneath him, still lunging for his throat. They writhe and hiss, but their movements are fumbled, broken bones getting in the way. The ribcage underneath him creaks when he kneels on it. Jason repositions so he can put pressure on the leg. He feels the tibia and the fibula crack beneath him. The thing doesn’t react.
He puts his knife into their stomach and rolls off, letting them stand so he can survey the damage. The thing is still thrashing around, stumbling as they try to pick themself up. Their broken leg crumples beneath them, crashing them down with a shriek. They put their weight on the other side.
The lightning flashes as they rise. There, in front of him, is the vision Jason came for; Robin, broken, bloodied, cut open and littered with holes.
The image is wrong.
He doesn’t see desperation in Robin’s eyes. None of the fear or pleading or regret he wanted. He just sees hunger.
This isn’t how it was supposed to go.Jason goes to the Tower for Robin. He wasn't supposed to find a starving, rabid vampire. The thing is, the Bats don't know Robin's a vampire - and he gets out, still starving, right into the Alley.

The Drakes are old blood, with vampiric history going back centuries. Tim has attended countless blood galas and night balls. He’s small and scrawny and easily overlooked- vampires recognize power above all.

There was a knife sticking out of his best friends back and Tim’s eyes were rolling into his skull as he toppled over and fell to his knees. It was a gruesome sight and Bart let out a terrified shriek to his left.
Kon listened carefully and paled. There was no heartbeat. He started doing CPR, praying to any god or god-like entity that would listen, to save his friend, to not let this be the end, before he ever got the chance to confess to the crush he’d been harboring for Tim since they were children.
Nothing.
Tears began collecting in Kon’s eyes. His friend was dead, his best friend.
