After the defeat of the dark signers, all the souls that were taken by the Earthbound Immortals have been returned. Among them is that of a man who is driven by nothing but anger and selfishness, eager to use and manipulate those around him at every turn. A man who has caused Aki Izayoi, in particular, tremendous amounts of grief and nearly moulded her into a weapon for his personal use. And a man who has, unfortunately, proven to be very good at avoiding law enforcement ever since his return to the land of the living.
Or: Divine comes back to life for a second and final time, trying to scrape together what remains of the Arcadia Movement, take revenge on Yusei Fudo and make Aki's just barely peaceful life a nightmare in the process.

Claude doesn't get it. Sure, the healing his crest gives him is handy. But no one talks about the drawbacks. As far as he's concerned, Fódlan's obsession with crests is overrated. His Crest of Riegan isn't worth the way it burns through his body. It isn't worth the way it skitters beneath the surface of his skin. The itch it thrums through his blood during battle isn't worth the retching he's left with hours later.

Claude has many secrets. Byleth comes face to face with his biggest secret when Claude abruptly turns into a dragon and is unable to change back. Oops.
Claude is stuck. Never mind the fact that he hasn't shifted forms since he was ten years old! He doesn't even know what creature he is, let alone how to control it. As far as he was aware, his whole 'transforming into a wyvern-snake-thing' curse had been broken years ago. Now he's stuck as a tiny scaly noodle under Teach's care. Not only is his secret in their hands, but so is his life. Until he can figure out how to get his body back to normal, he's fully dependent on Teach so his cold-blooded body won't freeze to death.
Sure, Byleth is confused about their favorite student's new shape, but it's not the weirdest thing they've seen. No weirder than crests, reversing time, or the ghost-girl living in their head. They know how to roll with the punches. Even if that punch is a scaly dragon baby. Sothis is delighted by the chance to dote on any baby dragon, even if that baby dragon is Claude. It would be nice if baby dragons came with a manual, though. Can't be any harder than teaching, right?

“Y’know, I thought we had a lot of trainin’ to do when ya got outta prison last year… Looks like this time around we’re really gonna be startin’ from scratch.”
There are multiple assumptions in that statement Kiryu wants clarification on, but he startles when he hears one thing specifically.
“What do you mean ‘last year?’” Kiryu gapes. Majima fidgets, uncharacteristically awkward. He looks up at the ceiling and crosses his arms, letting his shoulders droop heavily. The image of Majima at a loss for words is completely uncharted territory; it takes Kiryu a moment to realize that is what he’s witnessing, and he feels the hairs on the back of his neck tingle as he realizes it must be bad. “Nii-san, how… How long was I down there?”
“Ten months in the hole. Been here recoverin’ for three weeks.”
Kiryu disappears after fighting Majima at Shangri-La. When he's rescued, he's in for a long recovery, and there's a lot he needs to catch up on. Majima refuses to let him do it alone.
