“I had a thought,” Ivan says suddenly, looking up from the book he was reading and smirking at Till.
“What was your thought, Ivan? Please enlighten me.”
“Have you ever thought about doing anything with a guy?” Ivan asks, it sounds innocent enough, but his smirk is dangerous, devious even.
Till splutters, face going bright red as his mouth opens and closes like he’s a fish out of water, gasping for air.
“No! What the fuck, Ivan?! I’m not gay!” Till shrieks, his voice shrill with irritation and outrage.
“Well, you know, if a guy puts it in, but doesn’t move it isn’t really gay," Ivan explains calmly.
Till’s jaw drops, his eyes widening. Ivan can’t be serious, can he? But Ivan sounds so confident and sincere for once, Till doesn’t know why, but he feels compelled to believe him for once.
“Really?” Till asks stupidly, tilting his head to the side.
Ivan merely nods his head, a soft smile on his face.
“Yeah, definitely not,” Ivan assures.
“But like, he’d still be putting his dick inside of me. That’s pretty fucking gay, dude.”
Ivan shakes his head. “No, not if he doesn’t move.”

Till's life is busy, but he has no complaints or regrets. He plays basketball for "The Astronauts," Anakt University team. He balances studies, training, and his secret passion for music. He hangs out with Mizi and calls his mom almost every day. Till is happy. There isn't much to it.
He's also a beta, which means less drama in his (nonexistent) romantic life. But for some strange reason, Till was always a bit sensitive towards pheromones, even if he was supposed to be scent blind. Most people also say he smells weirdly sweet, and it led him to awful situations with alphas. Outside his teammates, Till seeks relationships only with omegas and betas. No way in hell is he letting a knothead alpha dominate him! That's gross! Omegas are soft, and betas are simple. Till likes soft and simple things.
So, when Mizi takes him to meet her new girlfriend at a fancy sports center, Till's eyes are on the elegant, talented figure skater stealing everyone's attention. And well, figure skating is a sport for omegas, right? That handsome man is definitely one. It's only logical.

Summary
Looking at him makes Ivan feel disoriented, as if he were walking up a staircase and his foot suddenly meets air instead of the solid certainty of the next step. It’s not just the fact that they share similar features, they also feel different. Ivan’s Till feels like a comet streaking through the sky, fierce and awe-inspiring, and forever out of Ivan’s reach. This Till feels more like a planet, reliable and steady, already fixed in its orbit.
“It’s a story about longing,” Ivan says instead, staring at the way Till’s long hair brushes against his nape and the way the light glints against the numerous silver piercings on his ear, “for liberation and warmth and someone’s gaze. It has the makings of a tragedy, but we don’t know the ending yet.”
(Or, canon Ivan meets actor Till and actor Ivan meets canon Till. Nothing is the same, but the yearning remains.)

If Till was nothing more than his tormentor, who weakened his hold when Ivan’s hands squeezed Till’s neck? Ivan did – for there would have been no liberation in Till’s death, just like there is no peace in Till’s absence.
The truth is that Ivan can be a functioning person, yet never human enough to be seen as such. It makes sense. After achieving a somewhat normal existence, the only thing making him teeter toward insanity is Till – always Till. He is also the only one making him feel alive.
Dramatically anticlimactic, but reasonable.
