Subaru watches as the world and his friends pat him on the back as an apology and move on without him more content to live in ignorance of their actions than to address them in the long term. They still don't remember everything that occurred, only bits and pieces of it due to the fact he was forgotten for so long their memories of him fragmented until Gluttonies influence
From ending up as a member of the Anastasia camp to now finding himself somehow as King of Lugunica Subaru has in theory everything he ever wanted. Yet he still feels hollow.
