-Burn me out
~<>———————————————- ———————————<>~
You're just the thing I hate.
Yet you stupidly keep clinging.
Like even after the first time you're stung, you keep reaching for me.
I don't even know what to do.
Despite it's ruthless nature; the moth still follows the hornet. Despite all the warnings.
Like an absolute idiot.
I knew it the day I learned about the bounty sitting on your head.
That you'd be trouble. I just didn't know what thrill I was chasing.
~<>———————————————- ———————————<>~
(2P double fedora hitman au with an interesting spin on the plot.)
I do not know how mafia's or hitman or any of that works. I'm just trying my best ;,).
Sorry for any grammar mistakes!!
Will try to update every Friday/Wednesday.

Summary
Don Sonnellino.
After becoming an adult and completely seperating himself from what used to be his family, he's become a college professor in economics, with absolutely nothing to bother him nor remind him of his past.
Yet things turn around when a co-worker, Chance, gets assigned to co-teach with him seemingly out of the blue. And now, they're starting to dig that past up.
And he's not ready to handle it.

Swords and Wilted Roses - REVISED EDITION
The Valerian Empire executed a traitor and Chance lost the person he loved the most. After the public execution, long-buried secrets and forbidden love become known throughout the empire. As blame, hatred, grief, and resentment consume what remains of his world, Chance is left standing before a grave with nothing but a wilted rose and memories of a promise that was never meant to be broken.
" With all my heart, I pledge to keep our eternal vows forever. "
Perhaps this was always fate's design. Perhaps they were never meant to stay together. Afterall, a rose may symbolize love, but its thorns were always destined to draw blood.

Summary
Mafioso has been hunting Chance for a while, constantly getting close to capturing him and getting his money back. Until he decided to take a more... friendly approach. After Chance won a rigged game at Sonnellino's casino, Mafioso ended up giving him one more opportunity to pay off his debt: working at his mansion and helping with the dirty work of the mafia.
During their time working together, Mafioso is in denial that he loves Chance, and Chance is convinced his debt collector would never love him back...

Summary
"When I hit you— back under your casino— your eyes continued reflecting back that same look of defiance despite you pleading for another day. However, seeing you here, you're much more compliant to death."
Chance wanted to run. He wanted to yell and scream at Mafioso to shut up. Nothing true was coming out of Mafioso's mouth, but he was rooted in place.
"There isn't a point for me to kill you,” Mafioso murmured. “You're already dead."OR
Chance and Mafioso didn't have the tightest of relationships— at least after Chance had stolen from Mafioso's casino. As Chance attempts to navigate through his thrill addiction, egoistic performance, and trust issues, he begins to understand how much he lost due to his pride. Being isolated into a cycle of killings, Chance learns the importance of empathy and apologies, turning towards Mafioso for guidance. Each string is tangled with personal arrogance, but beneath it all, Chance simply wants to be accepted unconditionally.

Chance always wins. It’s inevitable.
Mafioso always gets what he wants. It’s enforced.
But what happens when Chance wins what they were never supposed to, and Mafioso, despite what he’s been raised to do, doesn’t want to kill them?
What happens when Chance is now far from home, and isn’t allowed back until they pay what they rightfully won?
And furthermore, what if Mafioso doesn’t want them to leave?

Summary
Chance could pay off his debt whenever he wanted.
That’s the problem.
What starts as a simple overdue balance slowly becomes the only consistent thing in his life — the late-night calls, the warning emails, the strangers on the other end of the line who remember his name long enough to be frustrated with him. In a penthouse too big and quiet to feel lived in, Chance finds himself staying awake just to wait for the next notification.
He tells himself he’s avoiding responsibility.
In reality, he’s terrified of being forgotten again.
Chance hasn’t slept properly in months. Not because he’s broke, not because he’s in danger, but because paying off a debt means losing the only people who still look for him.

Summary
Chance likes looking at Don.
From the obvious care the man puts into his appearance, to his yellow skin contrasting his near pitch black hair and lop rabbit ears. The gold rings circling his thick fingers, his expensive yet versatile outfits, that slight bit of hair peaking out of his unbuttoned collar. Can you really blame them? The mafia boss is hot!
Just staring, though. Nothing else that could possibly fuck up their business deal.
Don is having very mixed feelings on Chance's circling habit. And he's not sure how many more times he can put up with Chance's advances before he cracks.
OR,
3 times Chance circles Don, entirely innocently + 1 time Don can't ignore it any longer.

Chance gambled, again, and lost Mafioso's trust. So he left, and abandoned him. But he couldn't. So he went back to find him again.

“Why do you trust me with this information when we just met like ten minutes ago?” they questioned, curious. Mafioso reached out and took their hand in his.
“Because you seem like someone I would trust my life with.” Chance’s eyes widened as their face slowly became red.
“Oh, stop being so cheesy,” the Gambler chuckled, quickly snatching their hand back, even when they want to be held like that forever. Mafioso only let out a low chuckle.
“I only say what’s true.”

Summary
Chance has always had Lady Luck on his side. Until the only one he could love, Elliot, decided to marry a notorious hacker once they had left forsaken. Noli, another lover he had, decided to chase other people. Leaving chance alone for what almost felt like forever. They thought it was over, no one would love them at all.
Mafioso, after a hookup, had found himself in a situation that was too out of hand. He always had longed for a relationship with chance, always yearning even if chance showed absolutely no interest. With two children running around, his work as a mafia boss overlaps with a stupid mishap. He desperately needed someone to marry. Even if it was one sided.
The two agree to marry each other out of desperation, sorrow, and stability. A relationship that they both knew and one hoped would never see the light of day. Hoping that after it was all over the two could split up, never to see each other again. Only if it was that easy couples therapy would only last one minute.
