At least Theseus was a bit like Percy. Tonight was the Monthly game of Truth or Dare, moreover, it was the tri-monthly game where it was supposed to be Snack Pack only. No Synth, Val, or Holly, no Tresillo or Wani or Hickory stopping to play as they passed through. No, it was supposed to be just the old Pop Troll gang. Supposed to be, being the keywords.
Tonight, just also happens to be Branch’s turn to host, opening his bunker up to his friends and setting up tables for the million and one snacks bound to be brought in by Biggie and Poppy. The only issue was Bruce had come to visit this week, meaning he had all of his brothers piled into his bunker as well. He could have taken Guy up on his offer to host but Branch will not be the one to ruin their schedule, he refuses. It took him too long to draw it up and enforce it for him to be the one who breaks it.
So, Branch was already exhausted when the night started. He knew his brothers wouldn’t keep to themselves like he asked, he just knew the second they heard the rowdy cheer of their group they’d file into his living room. Cause they were noisy.

Finally, back at home, Branch should be happy. He has Poppy, his brothers, and everything he's been wishing for, for years. But home means he's safe. Of course, that's where the nightmares would strike.
He turns to get something else from the picnic basket, but when he looks up the field by the river is gone. He's on a thick tree branch, moss climbing up the side and making a soft cushion for him to be sitting on. Turning quickly he felt his heart speed up, Poppy was gone, and when he looked down so was the blanket they had laid out to eat on. Ear twitching, he could hear soft familiar humming something that nagged in the back of his head like an old lullaby, a fuzzy memory of something. Standing up, he followed the sound.
“Oh my little Bumblebee are you here to help Granny?” a soft voice called out.
