Poppy hardly remembers her Family. She only really remembers that it was the horrible Bergens that took them from her. Even after the escape she finds herself unable to open up to the trolls trying to help her. Except maybe a particularly persistent Blue Troll who knows that she has happiness inside of her, and is determined to help her bring it out.

John Dory has practically already raised his four brothers-- how much harder could taking in a gray Princess Poppy be? Poppy is in love with her best friend, Branch, and honestly, she always has been. But that doesn’t matter, because she is aware of the expectations of the Princess/Future Queen’s mate. It is not that she doesn’t think Branch can handle it, because she knows he would make a great King and leader with his selflessness and protectiveness, but she does not want to make him feel like she wants him to change in order to be with her (the King would also be expected to sing/dance/etc.) Branch loves her too, but doesn't think she feels the same.
Eventually, their feelings will come to light. Will Branch grow into the troll we all know he can be? Or will he retreat into the bunker, never to be seen again?
There will be sex eventually in this story so skip it if you don't like that. First chapter is more fleshed out details and then story begins with chapter 2.
