Saliva fills his mouth. His stomach churns now as it did back then, trepidation warring with a longing so sudden and fierce that Dan Heng can’t think of anything else. This feeling—it can’t be anything else.

Mydei hung up on him before Phainon could utter another word.Contemplating which one was more dangerous - Aquila’s bombs or Mydei’s ire - he figured he may as well go to Mydei’s place for a few days, to show his willingness to be safe so Mydei’ll calm down, and then go back home once things ease up a little.

Alive- so why can't Phainon stop having vivid nightmares of spilled golden blood, a wound to the back incapable of healing-
Of Mydei laying lifeless on the council grounds?
(Or, Phainon starts having horrifyingly visceral nightmares of a past unfamiliar to him, and slowly begins to piece together that there is something more nefarious lurking behind both the Flame Reaver and Amphoreus than the Chrysos Heirs originally imagined.)

Summary
Phainon has always been a strange person. He’s talkative, vocal, and… loud. He does a lot of weird things too, to the point where Mydei barely reacts anymore. That is, until something happens that makes Mydei question just what is going on with Phainon.
When an enemy catches Mydei off guard, Phainon rushes in to take the blow – stupid, considering Mydei’s the immortal one. However, something else catches them by surprise.
The thing bites Phainon in the ass.
In desperation, Phainon bends over and yells at Mydei to hit it, and Mydei slaps it as hard as he can. The resulting sound is a resounding smack that echoes throughout the area.
“Nnngh—!”
And that, too.
Mydei stares at Phainon in shock. Phainon, to his credit, looks equally mortified by the odd sound he just made. Mydei feels a little bad about it, but Phainon just brushes him off.
It doesn’t stop there. More strange things like this happen, Phainon laughing it off each time, and Mydei can’t help but wonder: What exactly is Phainon trying to hide?
Another question also lingers in his mind: Why does Mydei keep getting strange thoughts about him too?

“Awake already? You were sleeping so well, I didn’t have the heart to wake you earlier.” Both voices from the past and present spoke at once, making Phainon clutch his head as a sharp pain became overwhelming, bringing with it the sensation of feeling like his head was going to explode.
[[‘Phainon? What’s wrong?’]]
“Phainon? What’s wrong?” It happened again. His vision was starting to blur, his breathing becoming labored, his head was pounding, a sharp screaming noise filled his head as he clutched at it, his fingernails scraping across his scalp almost drawing blood. “Phainon!”
A chance encounter at a library in Castrum Kremnos sends Phainon spiraling down into the difficult, painful path of remembering a past he didn't know he once had. Luckily, he's not alone, falling in love all over again with the very man he fell in love with in the past.

It was a recent note Kaveh left, and Alhaitham doesn’t have the heart to throw it out. So he leaves it stuck on the cabinet.
He leaves it with all the other notes he’s been keeping since Kaveh moved out.

“Kiss me.” He blurts out, dead serious.
Mydei completely stops in his tracks, eyes wide as dinner plates, shocked out of his sadness for a brief moment.
“What?”
Phainon smiles, a blush forming on his cheeks, but the dead look in his eyes remains. “You heard me, ‘Mydeimos’- kiss me.”
The king's whole face goes red, and Mydei can feel sweat pricking at his forehead, stress catching him in its cruel grip once more. He’s wanted this for a while now- but not like this.
Not when Phainon doesn’t even believe it’s real.
