    Lan Jingyi, who had evidently had *enough*, simply narrowed his eyes and marched their whole group to the edge of the clearing where Jiang Cheng was still locked in a standoff with the older Lan disciple.

    Once they had a good angle, he simply narrowed his eyes and pointed at the tall Lan.
    This was the exact moment when he looked over at them, and Wei Ying swallowed.

    “Oh. OH!”

    After he was able to do more than gape again, (which took a not inconsiderable amount of time) he quickly bustled over, shot the tall handsome man who was evidently his husband a charming smile, and took Jiang Cheng's arms into his hands.

    “If you would please excuse us for a moment, I need a word with my Shidi. Very urgently.”

    A strange curse causes Wei Wuxian to shift back and forth between his childhood, teenage and adult self.

    Jiang Wanyin may or may not be in over his head with the task of keeping the mayhem at a minimum.

    Sizhui places a hand on his back, already leading him inside. “Of course.”

    As the two Lan flank either side of him, Sizhui’s voice is starting to become a little fuzzy, or most likely, his ears don’t want to hear anymore.

    “Please inform Hanguang-Jun and Senior Wei of Zizhen’s arrival. Let them know he will be at my residence and to come meet us at their earliest convenience.“

    Zizhen leans slightly onto Jingyi, feeling his friend put an arm around his waist to help support him. His body feels so heavy all of a sudden…

    …ah…..the adrenaline is wearing off… He…he wants to take a nap now…..

    One moment the man was up, and then, the next second, he had gracefully jumped from the wall in front of Wei Ying, who, only by the strength of his will, did not scream in alarm.

    He did yelp a little. But very manfully.

    “No entry after sunset,” said the man, and his voice was deeper than Wei Ying could’ve guessed. “How did you get past the wards?”

    “Okay,” Wei Ying agreed easily and fell completely silent. Bastard.

    Jiang Cheng stared resolutely at the softly swaying reeds and tried to get lost in the sounds of buzzing insects and muffled voices. It'd be so easy to doze off and wake up to a-jie's laughter and a plate of watermelon slices. It'd be perfect.

    He didn't even last two fen.

    “Fine, what is it?”

    Wei Ying beamed at him.

    It wasn't the person who grew up eating his a-jie's soup and swimming in the Lotus Pier lakes. He looked different, he felt different, and if the juniors just didn't know any better, Jiang Cheng still couldn’t wrap his head around how Lan Wangji could bear it. Looking at Wei Wuxian and seeing a stranger in his place.

    Or: A story in two parts about family, bonds that transcend death itself, and feelings that only come with knowing someone inside out but no longer being able to speak their language fluently.

    “Wèi Yīng,” Lán Zhàn said, voice not quite a shout but also not the low register in which he usually spoke, the surprise or shock of his findings clearly evident in his tone as he continued staring at Jiāng Chéng’s wrist, “Read the pulse.”

    Wèi Wúxiàn crawled across the bed as fast as he could, nestling himself within the alpha and omega, pressing two fingers to the visible greenish of the artery against pale skin, and it took that exact same time for his expression to mimic their alpha’s, jaw hanging open and his eyes widening in realization. He looked up at Lán Zhàn, whose expression made it clear that what Wèi Wúxiàn was reading was in fact correct, despite his lack of particular medical knowledge.

    “Good heavens,” Wèi Wúxiàn mumbled, not looking directly at either of his mates., “There are two heartbeats.”

    When their omega gets pregnant, Wèi Wúxiàn and Lán Zhàn leap into the fray to pamper him and enjoy the thrills of upcoming parenthood. Its about time Jiāng Chéng gets his happy ending.

    Jiang Cheng looked at the door where shadows were approaching. Without warning, he slapped Lan Xichen across the face, the sound echoing sharply in the room.

    At that exact moment, Lan Wangji, Wei Wuxian, and several junior disciples entered the room. "Xiongzhang!" Lan Wangji's voice was filled with alarm as his eyes took in the scene. Wei Wuxian's eyes widened in shock at the sight of Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen.

    Lan Wangji immediately stepped forward, pushing Jiang Cheng back and unsheathing Bichen with a swift, fluid motion. The blade glinted menacingly in the dim light.

    "Wangji—" Lan Xichen began, his voice weak and broken, but Jiang Cheng cut him off harshly.

    "Don't you dare say anything, Xichen! You don't have the right to do that!" Jiang Cheng's voice was a mix of fury and pain, and Lan Xichen recoiled as if struck again, his spirit crushed.

    "Jiang Cheng, stop! Get out of here!" Wei Wuxian yelled.
