Friends. Seems like a dubious label to describe them, considering that Bam has him pinned against the door, mouthing wetly against his neck, and panting, “Want you. I want you so bad, please.”

Bam gets hurt and it's Khun's fault. He is not happy with this.
“Khun,” Bam rasps, his smile unwavering. “I’m okay, don’t worry.”
Khun wants to say: I will always worry. Khun wants to say: you are not okay and that’s my fault and I don’t know how to say sorry without feeling like I’m breaking every single bone in my body.
In the end, Khun doesn't say anything.

Bam sees Khun flinch at every word, as if each letter that spills out of her mouth is a poisoned needle pricking his skin, and he’s had enough. He knows he’s shaking but he shoves down the clenching in his stomach, ignores the ringing in his ears as the words echo repeatedly in his brain, seared on his skull like a never-fading scar.

“Oh, sweet lady Chaos,” Chiron breathes out, eyes locked on the symbol before his gaze falls down onto Bam’s face. The centaur trembles and his forelegs drop down to the ground.
Bam’s about to ask if he’s okay when he sees the other campers following his example, throwing their weapons on the grass and kneeling. Even Khun sinks down on the forest floor - cold stare freezing him into place and he thinks that they have never been that glacial before.
