Summary
In deference to the dozens of comments I've received on various fics relating to "When will this character reveal their deep, dark secrets so that we can have emotional tension and catharsis!!" I opened my Tumblr ask box for requests for unveiling secrets. Here are the short scenes that I was able to put together to answer these prompts. There were several requests for Don't Look Back, a few for Third Time's the Charm, and even one for The Isolation Place.

2B discovers her grave. 9S is 9Sheepish about it.
"The fic explores the emotional aftermath after Route E as 2B stumbles upon 9S' gesture of grief and tribute, with 9S being greatly uncomfortable about it. It touches on their individual guilt and how they are both unused to openly talking about the way they feel. Somewhat of a fix-it fic for fans who would like a happier, more conclusive end (though it does have its brief moments of angst). Overall a fateful and wholesome fic that hints at a hopeful future for the pair."

It had been a jarring contrast to the powerful and rough woman they had known and seen, watching her just crumble to pieces like that. If they had hearts they surely would have been broken, as humans would use to say, and surely it was how they felt.
And now they were there, rushing over to the Resistance’s Camp to attempt to help her, whether she wanted it or not.
2B cradled A2’s head closer to her chest and held her tighter.
