Summary
Two things happen. First, Boothill’s phone pings. Another message from Dan Heng, most likely, so he pulls it out to reply.
Second, the faint smoke of Blade’s distractibility solidifies, sharp-edged and purposeful, into a stare that latches onto something across the room. He laughs, disbelief hollowing out the amusement, and Boothill turns around to see what the issue is, but something else catches his eye-The face of a friend he hasn’t seen in a good while, and a complicated expression he can’t even begin to decipher.
Boothill invites a new friend and an old friend to help him bust some IPC ass. It doesn't go quite how he planned. Still, maybe things will turn out even better this way…?

Jing Yuan’s arms come up and tilt Dan Heng’s head so they’re face-to-face, so Dan Heng can see that he’s smiling. It doesn’t help. “There’s no need to be ashamed. I’m here for you, okay?”
“You weren’t,” Dan Heng whispers. He drags his eyes away. “You weren’t here.”
Jing Yuan pushes Dan Heng into crashing out because Lan knows he needs it right now. It doesn't help all that much.

Still, Anaxagoras lifts his chin, defensive. “I am a scholar, and a fast learner. I ought to have picked it up after the first time.” My body is falling apart, is what he doesn’t say. Every second that passes I get weaker and weaker and soon enough there won’t be anything meaningful of me left.or: Anaxagoras tries to distract himself from his inevitable fate by doing some research on/ dating Dan Heng. The research is not particularly successful. The date, on the other hand? pretty well.

That’s, uh, fear of sleeping.” She delivers these depressing revelations with all the enthusiasm and gravity of an underpaid tour guide. “Welcome in. Take a cookie. If it’s poisoned, Blame Dan Heng.”
In which Tingyun discovers she is far from the only insomniac on the Express.

All that happens is that Blade’s eyes flick downwards to catch Dan Heng’s. Neither of them move beyond that. Yet, no rage contorts his still expression, and no cruel words slip from his tongue. That in itself is breathtaking.

“To step back a little, yes. But I wouldn’t want you taking out this bad mood of yours on someone else.” He smirks, and Dan Feng briefly considers uncoiling his tail to slap him.
“You think I would-”
“Well, not like that, I’d hope.” Yingxing’s smirk seems to sharpen and soften again within a second. “But you need rest. A few moments to calm down. And you sought me out in the first place. So stay here while I work, would you?”Or: Dan Feng learns that self-care and selfishness are not the same thing.
