Summary
Rumi looks down. “Your soul,” she whispers mournfully, enraptured by the blue light trickling out of his chest. “It’s beautiful.”
Jinu smiles.
Gently, he presses his forehead against hers. Rumi jolts, eyes widening, but to his relief, she doesn’t pull away.
“My soul,” he echoes softly. “It’s yours, now.”
Rumi opens her mouth, but no words escape her as she gapes at him. A tear cascades down her cheek.
“It’s mine to give, and yours to take, if you’ll have me.” His vision is blurring, and so he lets his eyes fall shut, allowing the darkness to encompass him. He forces himself to believe that the lull of sleep is accepted of his own volition.
His cheeks tingle. Rumi is holding onto his face. “No, no, no—” she grits out. Her voice is growing distant. “Stop. You can’t do this to me.” The words rush out of her in a frenzy, full of haste and distress. “Jinu.”
“Rumi,” he responds in a broken murmur. “Thank you.”
She was right. Gwi-Ma could be defeated.
He should have listened to her.
(Or: A fix-it/time-travel au where Jinu goes back to the very beginning of the story and sets things right.)

“What’s your name?” she asks.
He opens the door wider in reply.
Wanda doesn’t move.
The man bends to root through a cupboard instead.
“I don’t have anything in,” he reaches into the shelves, half of him disappearing inside, “Not much to offer you in the way of hospitality.”
“Yeah,” she studies him, rubbing her fingers together. “Ghosts don’t drink, do they.”
A bottle of cheap liquor. He tosses it a bit in his hand, turning it, inspecting it, grinning at the label.
“Think I’m a ghost, do you?”

After the events of WandaVision, Wanda Maximoff has fled the country. Not before, however, she discovers that the flashdrive Pepper has given her contains a copy of the AI that sounds and acts like her former partner, lover and best friend.
Meanwhile, a certain damanged synthezoid attempts to piece together his humanity.
This is a sequel to my first Wanda/Vision fic, Synthesis, which was a canon-compliant journey through both Wanda and Vision’s relationship before WandaVision and during, all from Vision’s POV. While I reccommmend taking a look at that fic first, it is not required to understand what happens in this one, because while I filled out the story and bent the canon, I did not break it.
