Summary
Robin Arellano survives the basement and both him and Finney make it out of that hellish place.
But they’re still not free.
Both of them now have to deal with trauma of what happened down there, trying to keep their heads above water while everyone else swims along easily. Finney fears he’ll never be able to shake off the basement, and that he’ll end up like his father. And Robin worries he won’t be able to protect his little brother forever. He can barely even protect himself.
Robin and Finney are broken and splintered like the reflection of a shattered mirror, but maybe, if they let other people help them, they can glue themselves back together again.

Or will they forever be stuck in limbo, unable to move on from the shared trauma of their past? Is it even possible to stick together when the universe is so against you?
Robin thinks Finney is worth hanging around for, so he guesses it's worth putting to the test also.

One day walking home from school together their world is turned upside down as they are both taken by the infamous grabber. Now trapped in the basement with a monster all too eager to hurt them they must learn to survive together. Will they be able to keep going despite the pain and violence being done to them? Finney swears he keeps hearing a phone ringing and Robin is just desperate to go home.
A story about Finney and Robin both being taken by the grabber and going through some traumatic events together, leaning on each other for support, and fighting just to stay alive.

Summary
It happened quickly, the kind of quick that you think is impossible until you live it. You hear about abductions, about parents turning away for a split-second and their children disappearing into thin air, and you think they must be justifying their own neglect. Surely, they must have not been watching close enough if someone could steal their kid out from under their nose. Of the two of them, Finney is sure his dad would be glad to see him go. Robin has his mom and his uncle, and he stands tall and stubborn and proud in a way that Finney thinks means he's never gotten hit by someone who was supposed to protect him. He doesn't resent Robin for that. The idea of someone hurting Robin the way his dad hurts Gwen makes Finney see red.
