He knew it would end in sparkbreak. He knew that, after a week or so had passed, the pain would grow so much that he would eventually find a place to lay his little one to rest.
But he still held out the slightest hope, that maybe one day, one of these eggs would be viable, and he would no longer be the last Seeker alive.
Starscream looked down at the egg, waiting for the biolights to come online.
But, to his dismay, the lights stayed dim.
As they always did.
Just another month.
Or, Starscream lays dud eggs, and after a fateful night with Optimus, he winds up pregnant with a full clutch. Now, he needs to find a way to bring up his new family without Megatron finding out.

Summary
The transmission lasts only twelve seconds.
A Vehicon scout patrolling the dead regions of Cybertron captures footage of a lone Insecticon before its signal abruptly cuts to static. The creature is unlike the feral drones Megatron once commanded — larger, armored differently, moving with purpose instead of hunger. Not lost. Not wandering.
Hunting.
When Airachnid is summoned to the Nemesis, she expects punishment for her past failures. Instead, Megatron demands answers. The Decepticons have encountered wild Insecticons before, but never one that behaved like this — disciplined, territorial, and utterly unafraid.
Airachnid recognizes the signs immediately. A lone soldier does not roam without reason. Not in the wilds. Not unless it belongs to something greater.
Somewhere in Cybertron’s forgotten wastelands, a swarm has formed beyond Decepticon control. It does not answer to Megatron. It does not seek alliance. And if this was only a scout, then something far more dangerous waits at the center of its territory.
Something that does not wish to be found.A Queen,a real Queen.

(1) scary looking ship that seems deserted
(0) sight of his friend Orion Pax, which means no good.This planet is Terran, organic, disgustingly abrim with fleshies. And their own kind, too. The Autobots.
Why are they allied with these things called humans? Why are they hunting them down? Are they the ones responsible for their interstellar displacement? Also Optimus looks hella familiar to Orion, now that D-16 thinks about it...
