Summary
Vash and Wolfwood are slowly falling in love with each other, despite knowing their romance is a taboo. Vash is desperate to stop his brothers onslaught at Julai, and Wolfwood is secretly under contract within the Eye of Michael. It is a romance that is doomed to fall apart, and Wolfwood is fated to be killed before the aftermath.
However, after receiving a mysterious note from Knives, passed along by his accomplices, Legato and Zazie the Beast, Vash realizes there is an additional power to his Gate: The ability to reset time and shift into alternate universes.
Twice now, he has tried and failed to bring back his beloved. After the third, his Gate begins to rupture. It tears the timelines apart, and pieces them back together in odd ways. Hallucinations, altered memories, and strange dreams begin to plague them all. Especially Vash, who carries the burdens of all his past lives in a tangled mess.

He wiped quickly the last of his tears away, suddenly embarrassed with his outburst. "And to answer your question", Senkuu continued like nothing had happened after he'd calmed down, which Gen appreciated, "Weeks, I'd say. Months. Depends on what you define as the beginning." Gen stared blankly ahead, not really seeing anything, not really even trying.
"You're white as a ghost. Are you okay? Wait, stupid question. Obviously you aren't. We have to clean those wounds of yours right now. Did you find anything useful?"
"...I found cereal?"
