This is something he can do.
He can see the tinge of the sunrise at the edge of the horizon, and he knows it's time—others, those who know nothing of the craft, would claim midnight was strongest…
…but Tommy knows better. He knows that his power is strongest on the cusp between day and night, at sunrise and sunset.
No one else is in the cemetery, he is the only one there, and that is perfect for his purposes. He kneels down next to Bobby's grave and gently places one hand on top of the headstone, silently asking his forgiveness while at the same time having no regret as he whispers, “I have to,” feeling that Bobby would completely understand the actions he was about to take.
He sighs.
He then digs one hand into the freshly turned soil and the other into the dew covered grass.
For life to be given, something must be taken.

"Marriage isn’t the end of the world,” Eddie tried, “Look at me and Shannon. Sure, it hasn’t always been picture perfect, but we make each other better. And we got Chris out of the deal, too.”
“But you two got to meet and fall in love,” Buck argued back, “You got to choose each other without any outside interference. Your marriage is just that- yours. My life has always been my parents and any time I try to do something for myself- get some form of independence- I end up screwing it up and making the headlines.”
Tommy remained stoic and silent by the door. As much as Buck tried to befriend the man- he was a professional. He took his job of protecting Buck very seriously and tried to keep himself separate from Buck’s personal life. Buck hated that.
“Maybe it will work out,” Eddie tried, “Maybe you’ll end up falling in love with one of the women they choose.”
