Summary
It had been bothering him for quite a while, but with nothing to distract him, it was hard to ignore. It started as a gentle nagging in the back of his head, hesitantly probing for his attention. With every lonely night spent in his cell, that pull grew stronger. He couldn’t put proper words to what it was other than a feeling of something calling for him, calling out during the silent nights.
Tonight, it sounded like a song. Whispered notes that caressed his ears and sent pleasant shivers down his back that rippled his scales.

Summary
Sora was falling. Or was he sinking? Sinking into unfathomable darkness... He was pain incarnate for the longest time, and then he was nothing at all. And that was bliss for a short while, but when you are nothing at all, you feel nothing at all. He slept and he slept and he did not care to wake up. There was no point in it. And so he slept some more. And then he began to see things in fragmented moments. White walls. Friends. Faces. Voices. Smiling and calling his name. And then the pain returned when he tried to reach out. And why did he try to reach out? There was no reason to, and it hurt. But he needed to. He didn’t know why, but through the swirling darkness, he knew he needed to reach out to the dim light above him before he was swallowed in darkness.

Summary
How much of what he had could even be called “Ventus” now? During their initial split, Vanitas had held fast to Ventus’ heart and torn off so much of it that he almost killed him. The little crumbling portion was all he had left before being sent away, left to die on the dreamy sands of the Destiny Islands. He could barely recall that day, only remembering the blistering, searing pain as his heart was torn. But with the pain he felt, the warmth of another, his fading light calling it toward his dying heart.
Just how many times had his heart truly been broken? How many times did “Ventus” die?
He had been so focused on what he had lost that he forgot what he had left. Maybe they could help him fill that void and find what's left inside.

Summary
Ven found himself kneeling on the glass, hands splayed in front of him as he stared at the dancing light. His eyes gleamed with tears as grief clawed its way into his hollow chest. He wanted to punch through the mural and sift through the light just to feel Sora's warmth in his hands. A sudden chill ripped through Ventus, the cold nipping at the edges of his being. His breath fogged in front of him, drawing his attention away from the light beneath him.
Was his heart always this cold?
--"I remember crying. It felt like someone had taken everything inside me and left me with nothing but a hollow shell. I felt sad, lonely, and hurt, and I didn't know why." Ven was silent, taking in all of Sora's words. "I never, ever, want you to have to feel like that again," He declared.

Summary
Roxas had been waist deep in a small cave, pulling back seaweed and batting around the crabs that had made it their home in search of some morsels. Just as he pulled himself out of it, he turned and saw it.
A boat. Right above him.

Summary
He hated it when they went to sleep.
Vanitas could join them. Rest his head against Ven's shoulder or press against Sora's back, embrace their warmth. But he refused.
He didn't deserve it.

Summary
Ven blinked blearily, meeting Riku's eyes. A muffled sob came from behind the tattered rag gagging him as he noticed the blood pooling around the wounded male. His electric blue eyes were bright with pain and fear as he weakly crawled toward the blonde. He pulled against the chain again, pushing himself onto his knee with his shoulder.
This was his fault. Riku was dying because of him. Sora would end up dying because Riku came for him instead.

Summary
It had been rather concerning how little they had heard from the trio. Sora could count on one hand how many times he'd seen Ven off-world after the war. Then it happened, and now Ven hardly left home. Kairi had been the one to suggest that Sora start to visit the blonde when she returned home, Aqua giving her a grace period as a reward for all her progress in training. That was what she'd told Kairi, at least. They didn't doubt there was more to it. Kairi had been worried Ven would get lonely.

Summary
Axel knew what he had to do. He couldn't let this continue on any longer or else there would be nothing left of the kid. He walked confidently through the ship, knowing no one would dare try to stop him. Not when he was so crucial to their success. Paladins didn't grow on trees after all.
He stopped right outside Roxas' room, if you could even call it such a thing. Axel knew in his heart what it truly was. No doorhandle or windows, just a single panel to enter a password. It seemed like such lack luster security for such high quality 'merchandise'. Axel took a deep breathe and unlocked the door.
