Oh my gosh. This story is so different from other Humans are Space Orcs fics. Currently the story doesn't have a summary, but I still highly recommend reading it if you like sci-fi and Shinsou. Highly recommend this, it's really well written, entertaining, and gets its point across well.
For those of you that like summaries here's a fanmade (by me lol) summary:
Fanmade Summary
For as long as he can remember, Shinsou lived experiencing two lives.
He wakes up and goes to school. A newly joined Hero student, going through the motions surrounded by people.
He goes to sleep and again he wakes up. He's in space, in a cell, waiting for the guards to grab him for an alien styled gladiator match. Surrounded on all sides by isolation, death, and a lack of understanding.
How long can this go on, unchanging?

It started when Subaru was telling Beatrice a bedtime story he concocted in the back of his mind. Beatrice though captivated his stories keeps on interrupting him to grill him on the inconsistency. Like why is the colour of the cloak red now when it used to be black. Subaru tired of being corrected had simply elected to write down the story to keep the details consistent. Eh, would probably help in becoming fluent in this world's writing system.
It would have been fine and dandy if Otto didn't barge in clutching his notes, blabbering about how brilliant his stories are and why he should publish them. Subaru had humoured him then not really believing that his book would sell while making fun of Otto's previous record at predicting market values.
Turns out Otto hit the jackpot this time and Subaru's story ended up becoming a hit.
His friends and acquaintances becoming his avid reader much to his embarrassment.

Really really good. This story is really well thought out especially with how everyone's viewpoints are portrayed. The literary analysis sections and the innovation of Subaru's novel are really insightful. But most especially the world detailed in Beneath the Black Sky sounds so amazing; each snippet and description really hones in the idea that the characters are discussing a real tangible book.

Midoriya Izuku used to laugh when asked that thought-provoking icebreaker question in middle school: Would you rather be stranded on an island alone or with your worst enemy? Kacchan would demolish a deserted island, make it his bitch; it would be a paradise by the end of the week, Izuku knew. Of course, he’d want Kacchan there, even if it meant Kacchan taking out his misplaced anger at being stranded in the first place out on him. He’d reap the benefits in the end, he knew. And with no one around to be an audience, to interfere, their friendship might even rekindle.
Oh, if only Kacchan was really his “worst enemy.” That was silly middle school thinking, Izuku now knew, as a third year student at UA.
What’s worse than being abducted by aliens? For Izuku, it was being abducted by aliens with his long time nemesis, Shigaraki Tomura. When Izuku is lucky contestant number one to be chosen to be experimented on, he makes it his mission to make sure that Shigaraki does not meet the same fate. It’s not super surprising when Shigaraki isn’t grateful, but hey, it’s a plan, and Izuku’s sticking to it, determined to be heroic whether Shigaraki wants him to or not, whether Shigaraki trusts him to be or not.

Meta abilities were rare. They started with that glowing baby in China and seemed to appear at random all over the world. None of those abilities were like this though. Nobody’s entire body changed like this, let alone a whole group of people changing the same way. That detail alone made it clear that these things could not be human at all. They were alien to Earth itself.
Shinsou Hitoshi had just been trying to avoid his shitty foster home and now he was caught up in an alien abduction with eight other people. What was going to happen to them?

A good fic that is really well thought out, it's brought a lot of ideas I hadn't thought of into the Humans Are Space Orcs genre. The action is good, the fluff is sweet.
Thoughts on Arc 1
The story is very well written but a bit notably different from the most common stories in this Humans Are Space Australians/Orcs genre during the first arc.
For one, the first few chapters are disturbing (However, I should note they are trigger warned in the chapter notes). Super well written, amazing execution. But just as a warning, know that somehow for stories that usually center on humans being abducted by aliens and either sold or forced to fight, this one somehow showcased the dark side of that in more detail. I was genuinely surprised by that lmao.
Other than the start however, the rest of the story becomes a slice of life space life.
