He endured it for some time until his mother forced him to see a divination expert. Old friend of the family of course. The old witch only had to shake his hand to tell him that he was suffering from some ancient soul disease called "Comes Animae" and the pains could be attributed to the fact that he had met his soulmate and let the moment pass.

Lee doesn't think too hard about how his sandals begin slipping as he runs, just adjusts his weight to maintain his momentum forward. That is until he's slipping forward multiple meters before he's able to stop and turn to find the source of the loud, sharp *crack!* that splits through the air. Before Lee can focus, the sound is followed immediately by a plunging splash of water and the skittering of sand coming from where Gaara had been positioned in their envoy. Where his sand remains but he is nowhere to be found.
