Summary
We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.”
― Anais Ninit is on a uncharacteristically normal day, that Sakura has the first of many small realizations that kickstarts her growth into a capable, motivated shinobi.
or, Kishimoto said Sakura was highly intelligent and yet! she stagnated, learned nothing and remained the same until the time-ship and this author is mad.

Bookmarker's Notes
utterly beautiful. lovely imagery and turns of phrase. apt and painful portrayal of inferiority complexes born from careless cruelty. lovely, endearing and frustrating characterization that made them appear vividly in mind's eye. the writing was a delight. her small spelling mistakes showing that she'd worked hard to learn and to retain the knowledge, however short or lacking her schooling was? that stings. I forewent sleep for this - and gladly.
